Station Teller

Dec 21, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Commercial Bank has begun opening automated teller machines at railway stations to give commuters access to its electronic cash dispensing facility, a statement said. The bank’s first ATM machine under the programme was commissioned at the Fort Railway Station, the biggest terminal, in the heart of the capital Colombo recently.

This is to be followed by the installation of ATMs at the Maradana station, also in Colombo, and in the suburban stations of Ganemulla, Ragama, Moratuwa and Panadura, the bank said.

Commercial Bank’s ATM network in Sri Lanka now has 477 terminals.

Apart from cash withdrawals, ATMs of Commercial Bank enable settlement of water, electricity bills and mobile phone bills and credit card payments.
