Sri Lanka Telecom on Thursday confirmed it has secured enough bandwidth to fully restore its internet services by one in the morning. The telco giant negotiated for bandwidth from regional internet service providers and from SingTel through SEA ME WE 2 undersea cable.
SLT officials refrained from confirming the additional bandwidth acquired, but said only 60 percent of the capacity was currently being utilised.
“There has been a full restoration of internet services pertaining to its dial up internet, dedicated internet, ADSL and e-mail services,” Chief Marketing Officer, Kapila Chandrasena said.
Chandrasena also conveyed the telecom giants regrets for the inconvenience caused to all its customers by this service interruption and assured that such an interruption would not happen again.
