Nov 09, 2011 (LBO) - Virtusa Corporation, a Nasdaq listed information technology company founded by Sri Lankan born entrepreneurs has been included in a list of 100 small best small companies in America, the company said. "We are delighted to be recognized on Forbes’ list of 100 Best Small Companies in America, said Kris Canekeratne, chairman and chief executive of Virtusa said in a statement.

"Given that only 100 companies were selected across the country, this recognition is truly an honor.

"It is testament to the dedication and hard work of our team members who work relentlessly to develop and implement innovative solutions for our clients, in turn enabling us to grow and scale Virtusa."

To qualify a firm must be publicly traded a year and generate annual revenues of over 5 million dollars and have a stock price of at least five dollars per share. They are measured on revenue and earnings growth and return on equity.

Virtusa had posted revenues of 218 million US dollars last year.

The firm has a development centre in Sri Lanka.
