June 05, 2010 (LBO) – A trade delegation from Vietnam headed by the country’s vice trade minister will visit Sri Lanka next week and also form a joint business council with the island’s Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
In the delegation would be representatives from Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries group, a mining, exploration mineral trading and coal power group, Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vietnam Rubber Group.
Other manufacturing firms include, Ba An Company, a power and telecom cable firm, Nhat Linh Company, an electric equipment maker, European Plastics, Thanh Nam Import Export, a steel products maker and Mekong Trading Company.
Hanoi Trade Corporation, which trades in processed foods, garments and consumer goods and runs supermarkets, Thai Nguyen Trade Promotion Centre, a trade consultant for Vietnamese firms, would also be in the delegation.
“This delegation from Viet Nam is a state promoted initiative which encompasses the state sector through representation by high government officials led by a powerful Vice Minister in charge of Trade and Industry,” Sri Lanka’s envoy to Hanoi Ivan Amarasinghe said.
