Apr 11, 2014 (LBO) – York Street Partners (Pvt) Ltd, a Sri Lanka based boutique investment advisory firm had won a competition held by Harvard Business School, leading the region. In this journey, York Street Partners has succeeded in attracting and unifying Sri Lankan talent with international capital market experience working in organizations such as Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, ADB and Deutsche Bank.
The firm said it has an advisory board which include Mahesh Amalean (Chairman and Founder MAS Group), Eric Rajendra (ex-McKinsey Partner, Senior IFC Advisor) and Mohan Chandramohan (founder and ex-CEO of NYSE listed ARC).
It was placed first in the ‘2014 Alumni New Venture Competition’ for South and South East Asia held by the US-based business school.
Nayana Mawilmada, Hiran Embuldeniya and Jayamin Pelpola, Harvard Business School alumni accompanied by Sharini Kulasinghe had participated in the competition.
The firm quoted Ravi Gururaj, a member of the panel of judges as saying that the firm had “delivered an outstanding pitch which combined a robust albeit nascent business opportunity” with the school mission of making a difference in the world.
