Eleven local Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) firms will head for the US next week, a mission to woo new business and investment.
The weeklong USAID programme will take the local troop to top Information Technology (IT) firms and other IT driven industries in the Washington and Silicone Valley areas. rn
rnMeetings will include an appointment with Sanjay Kumar, a Sri Lankan who has achieved stardom in the US IT industry. rn
rnThe firms qualified for the trip based on their potential to US business, selected by a Washington based IT consultant after a series of meetings and discussions since last year. rn
rnThe consultancy also included grooming the Sri Lankan firms to meet US expectations and scheduling appointments with potential US partners.rn
