36 corporate firms to battle at ‘Chamber Cricket Championship’

The second annual ‘Chamber Cricket Championship 2015,’ organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be held on the 10th October, 2015 at the Colombo Colts Cricket Club, with the participation of 36 teams. The six-a-side tournament, which was initially held during the year 2014 primarily aims to attract teams representing the local corporate sector. The 36 teams will be divided into four groups with each group consisting of 09 teams.

Teams in each group will play 08 matches and the top two teams in the each group will go into the quarter-finals and progress from there onwards.

Apart from awarding the Champions and the Runners Up of the tournament, the organizers have also planned to award the ‘Best Player’, ‘Best Bowler’, ‘Best Batsmen’ and the ‘Best Female Player’ of the tournament. Each team can have six playing members for a match and it is mandatory for each team to also have a female player in the playing six. (CCC Release)
