Anti-government protests continue in Sri Lanka

Mass protests demanding the resignation of the government are being held across Sri Lanka amid a worsening economic crisis.

Sri Lankan migrants in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, and Japan also protested against the government and its anti-democratic moves.

“The president invites all political parties in parliament to accept cabinet posts and join the effort to seek solutions to the national crisis,” Rajapaksa’s office said in a statement on Monday.

"Four Ministers appointed to maintain affairs of Parliament & other functions of country legitimately and stably."

The main opposition Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB), however, has declined an invitation to form an interim government.
