Mar 06, 2014 (LBO) – A British car day will be held on March 16, with classic cars and motorbikes dating back from the 1930s to be on parade in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo. The owners will dress in “period outfits, adding to the authenticity of the event and bringing a touch of humor,” the organizer said.
The parade will begin at Colombo’s Town Hall ground and make its way to Kingsbury Hotel they will be on display until 11.30 am.
The Classic Car Club of Ceylon backed by Land Rover agents SML Frontier Automotive said Aston Martin, Lotus, MG, Triumph, Rolls Royce, Austin, Morris and Ford will be on display.
“Our sponsorship of the British car day is an opportunity for us to continue our support of classic cars, and at the same time showcase our vehicles in the right setting to a group of enthusiasts…” Sheran Fernando, managing director, SML Frontier Automotive said in a statement.
The Classic Car Club has restored many old vehicles.
