June 03, 2008 (LBO) – PC Pharma, a unit of Sri Lanka's PCH Holdings announced the launch of Bangladeshi Square Pharmaceutical products in Sri Lanka, which the firm says is competitively priced. Square Pharmaceuticals is a unit of Bangladeshi conglomerate, Square Group which has also diversified into healthcare, consumer goods and textiles, officials said. The company also owns the largest hospital in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka.

Square Pharmaceuticals says it now makes over 500 pharmaceutical products and export to 33 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and South America.

"The partnership with Square Pharmaceuticals of Bangladesh would provide all Sri Lankans access to best quality and innovative solutions," S.H.M. Rishan, the chairman of PCH Holdings told reporters Monday.

The company says the tie up with Square Pharmaceuticals will provide access to a wide variety of pharmaceuticals at a fair price with island wide distribution.

"PC Pharma although a new entrant to the healthcare sector has already carved a niche for itself and is gaining momentum to establish the company as a key player in the industry," says Dilshad Ikram, PC Pharma's general manager.
