SriLankan Airlines will add two more A340s to its fleet to cater to growing passenger numbers in the coming winter season.
The fleet expansion will allow SriLankan to add eight more frequencies to key European destinations and Malaysia.

rnOfficials say they are anticipating a significant pick up in demand on the routes where frequencies were increased as the airlines is flying at near capacity to and from the destinations already. rn
rnSupporting this claim, the tourism industry says it is gearing itself to cater to over 500,000 tourists in 2003, significantly higher than an annual average of 400,000 arrivals. rn
rnA room capacity expansion project has also taken off, with The Tourist Board encouraging traditional homes and plantation bungalows to open their doors for tourism. rn
rnIndustry analysts say Sri Lankas present room count at around 700,000 rooms could be fully booked even as early as this coming winter season, especially with the English Cricket team touring the island November.
