Port officials on Monday called on Danish firms to build the Oluvil Port, on the East coast of Sri Lanka.
The Euro 28 million project will be funded entirely by The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).

rnThe contract will see a 1.5 kilometre breakwater, the roads within the port, an ice plant and cold storage, a 8 meter deep, 330 meter quarry and a 200 meter fisheries section.

rnAccordingly, the additional area required for the harbour basin will be provided by excavating inland, and the dredged depth will be increased to 11m subsequently. rn
