June 28, 2017 (LBO) – Japanese ambassadors in five SAARC countries India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Bangladesh met Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake Tuesday at the Ministry.
“The ambassadors hailed the ongoing development activities in Sri Lanka and pointed out the growth in the country is a matter of pride for other nations in the region,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Kenichi Suganuma said that the meeting was arranged to further strengthen the diplomatic relations between Japan and Sri Lanka.
Speaking with the Japanese ambassadors in SAARC region, Minister Karunanayake said investors have ample business opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The minister also thanked the government of Japan for extending immediate relief assistance to Sri Lanka during the recent weather disaster in the island.
