101 for its 12.5 kg cylinder.

Overall Laugfs will cut its cooking gas prices by an average Rs.

8, while auto gas prices will drop by Rs. 4.50 effective midnight Tuesday.

Tuesday’s reduction comes some three months after the gas supplier’s tussle with the Consumer Affairs Authority to raise its retail pricing, in line with rising global prices.

The consumer watchdog turned down the Rs. 110 price increase for a 12.5 kg cylinder calling it unreasonable.

Laugfs however upped its pricing for the home use cylinder by Rs.

94, after pursuing a loophole in the Consumer Affairs Act.

Chairman of Laugfs, W.K Wegapitiya said in an earlier interview that “Under section 18 of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, the CAA is bound to
