Feb 27, 2014 (LBO) - WSO2, a Sri Lanka based open source software firm whose products drive applications of companies ranging from ebay.

com and Cisco Systems to British Airways is targeting more business in Asia. In Sri Lanka WS02, customers include Dialog Axiata and John Keells Holdings.



The firm is also expecting potential local users in addition to around 75 regional participants for the March conference.

"A middleware company is not appropriate for small businesses, but there are probably 50 to a 100 large companies in Sri Lanka who can use our software," Weerawarana said.

"We only have a small number of customers in Sri Lanka yet, so we would certainly like to see more people using our software.

"

"So the conference is an opportunity is an opportunity for people who are considering or evaluation the using of this kind of software to get a better understanding of why it is there, how it works and get a feel for the technology."

The conference will have tutorials and a networking session.

Companies in many industries ranging from Aviation to IT such as Boeing and Cisco system use WS02 software.

They have customers in countries ranging from New Zealand to the Middle East and Africa.
