Apr 20, 2013 (LBO) - Sri Lanka will host a regional port conference and exhibition in May, showcasing the island's rapid advancement as South Asia's emerging maritime hub and growing commercial opportunities, organizers said. Sri Lanka Ports Authority chief Priyath Wickrama told prospective participants in a statement that the event will allow top domestic and international executives to interact and build business relationships in the most dynamic economy in South Asia.

"Through access to Sri Lanka's leading decision makers, discover the government's strategic vision and gain unrivalled insight through the provision of accurate business intelligence that will help you access the vast commercial potential that the island has to offer," he said.

The 2013 Sri Lanka Ports, Trade & Logistics Conference, Exhibition & Awards is organized by Seatrade Communications, a consultancy and will be on the theme of 'Accelerating Development, Promoting commercial opportunities in South Asia's emerging maritime hub'.
