Match Making

Dilshan Wirasekara, Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange

May 23, 2008 (LBO) – Sri Lankan Information Communication Technology (ICT) companies plan to take part in a business forum in the United Kingdom to promote joint product development, marketing and sales, its organizers said in a statement. Supported by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the match-making mission aims to link Sri Lankan companies with UK partners for joint ventures.

The mission is open to Sri Lankan companies interested in partnerships with UK companies in software development, software solutions and software products and services marketing, Dharini Daluwatte the mission manager says.

"This can be reciprocal with opportunities being explored in both countries."

Over 20 Sri Lankan ICT firms will head to London this July for the forum organized by UKTI in collaboration with the ICT Agency in Sri Lanka.

"The mission will be marketed to UK companies based on the participants’ strengths, so this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the best of Sri Lanka’s software industry," Jenny Patterson, head of trade of the British High Commission said.
