“Non-Governmental Organisations are encouraged to obtain the agreement of the Ministry of Finance and Planning for all such projects to ensure their participation in the reconstruction programme is productively coordinated,” the Ministry statement said.

The statement added that with the large number of NGOs, governments and donor agencies displaying considerable interest in being involved in the reconstruction phase, it is imperative to ensure effective use of resources for reconstruction along with improving transparency and accountability in allocation and disbursement of funds.
