Mar 06, 2012 (LBO) – IronOne Technologies, a Sri Lanka based firm said its online trading system used at 15 out of 22 brokers has been connected to an upgrade to the Colombo Stock Exchange’s new automated trading system. It also makes software for banking, insurance, telecom sectors which are also available on on Apple iPad, iPhone and Android mobile devices. The CSE upgraded to MillenniumIT, ATS-7 system on Febuary 24. Iron one said an upgrade to its ASTRAD platform (FIX 5.0/FAST Protocol) was simultaneously launched at 15 brokering houses.

Tiranjan Bulankulame, vice president of IronOne Technologies Stock market solutions division said in a statement that the upgrade incorporates a new messaging standard and would improve trading efficiency.

Lakmini Wijesundera, chief executive Asia Pacific Ironone Technologies said that ASTRAD has an eight year track record with broker firms and over 50 percent of market share.

Prasansani Mendis, chief executive of NDB Stockbrokers was quoted as saying that IronOne has worked with the firm’s IT team continuously through mock-trading sessions. Harsha Fernando, chief executive of SC Securities said his clients were happy with the upgrade.
