Cathay Pacific could add a fifth flight to Sri Lanka, with cargo and passenger numbers picking up.
Airline officials here to celebrate 10 years of operations out of Sri Lanka, say demand in and out of the country is moving up with the peace process taking root. rn

rnA bulk of Cathays business out of Sri Lanka comes from the cargo operations, carrying garments to the US and tuna to Japan. rn

rnOutgoing Country Manager Toby Smith says the sector is growing 5% annually and is the more stable business over its passenger service. rn

rnCathays passenger service is estimated to be growing at an annual average of 10%.rn

rnHowever, Cathay is keen to recoup from the recent SARS epidemic, especially with the heavy bout that hit Hong Kong. rn

rnAmong the development for the Airline is the introduction of six new aircrafts this year to ply the fast growing regional routes.
