July 31, 2013 (LBO) - Sri Lanka-based MillenniumIT, a unit of London Stock Exchange group said it had won deal to sell its securities trading platform to Argentina. MillenniumIT software is running in around 30 locations around the world.

Recast The London Stock Exchange group said Wednesday it had been selected as technology partner for Argentina's Caja de Valores S.A. (CVSA), which provides technology services to Bolsa & Mercados Argentinos exchange (B&MA).

MillenniumIT will provide its 'Millennium Exchange' trading platform under the deal.

"This is a significant contract win for us," Mack Gill, chief executive of MillenniumIT said in a statement.

"Argentina is one of the largest economies in Latin America and we are delighted they have chosen MillenniumIT to further develop their capital market infrastructure.

"MillenniumIT has shown again that its highly scalable, low literacy platform appeals to providers of capital markets around the world."

The LSE Group will also provide ancillary services to help further develop the Argentinian capital markets.
