Apr 01, 2019 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Finance Ministry said it had disbursed 79 billion rupees to 46,673 persons under the Enterprise Sri Lanka loan scheme so far.
The loan programme was launched in on June 21, 2018.
The ministry says 20,286 loans had been given for housing under a scheme called 'Sonduru Piyasa' and another 2,258 loans had been given under the 'Jaya Isura; also for housing.
Agriculture loans to farmers disbursed so far is 17,484 as 'Ran Aswenna' and 3,374 'Govi Navoda' loans.
For solar energy 1,339 loans had been given under a scheme called 'Rivi Bala'. Media persons had been given 661 loans under Madya Aruna.

The ambitious 60 billion rupee ‘Enterprise Sri Lanka’ programme aims to groom 100,000 entrepreneurs by 2020 through 16 concessional loan schemes with additional incentives provided to encourage female entrepreneurship.
