SEC grants extension to Listed Companies to release financial statements

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), having considered the contents of the letter dated 28th May 2021 of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) focusing on the inability of Listed Companies to release the Annual Reports and the Financial Statements in terms of the Listing Rules of the CSE under the prevailing situation relating to the Covid-19 pandemic has directed the CSE as follows.

(1) To allow an additional period of one calendar month to listed entities who are required to submit the following financial statements on or before 31st May 2021.

  • Annual Reports together with the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended 31st December 2020
  • Interim Financial Statements for the last quarter for entities whose financial year ends on 31st March 2021

The above concessions have been granted in light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic situation and considering the request made by the Listed Companies as represented by the CSE.
