Dec 02, 2015 (LBO) – Award winning global superstar and Latin music idol Enrique Iglesias will be performing ‘Sex and Love Tour’ LIVE in concert in Colombo on 20 December at CR&FC Grounds.
This tour series is the twelfth concert tour by the Spanish recording artist under his tenth studio album, ‘Sex and Love’.
Beginning in February last year, Iglesias is performing under this album name, covering 120 shows in the world while setting a box office record of 134.5 million US dollars in revenues by last month.
The Sri Lankan event is being organized by ‘Live Events’ co-founded by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene together with presenting sponsor Prime Residencies.
“Music is one of the most powerful ways to bring people together and we want Sri Lankans to experience a rare opportunity to enjoy great music.” Chairman of the Prime Lands Group, B. Premalal told reporters Tuesday.
Concert organizers reveled that 20 percent of the ticket sales has happened within just 24 hours of tickets going on sale.
Organizers added the ticket sales are limited to 8,500 to ensure the only Asian stop on the artist’s global tour, a high quality event.
“This international level event will be the first step in a journey leading to our island paradise becoming a bona fide destination for high-profile globally-relevant events,” Live Events CEO and radio personality Shaq said.
He further stated that they joined radio stations in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives to promote this event to their audiences to attract foreigners.
Live Events has signed up with US artist management agencies which handles celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 and Bon Jovi.
Iglesias will arrive Sri Lanka on the 19 December and leave the country on 21 December 2015 for the next concert in Israel.
