Jan 28, 2014 (LBO) – Netherlands based ISM eCommerce will set up a 3 million US dollar business process outsourcing and software development unit in Sri Lanka, the island’s state investment promotion office said. The firm’s customers included Royal Dutch Post (PostNL), Seiko Watches, Akzo Nobel, Heineken and Chelsea football club, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka said in a statement.
The firm was planning to hire and train 160 information technology specialists.
“We will invest heavily in education and knowledge transfer, by training our new local employees by industry experts abroad as well as in Colombo,” the statement quoted ISM eCommerce founder Jan Kees de Jager as saying.
“It’s our aim to make them world-wide front runners in our field of expertise.”
The firm also wanted build relations with universities, he said.
