Squeaky Clean

August 08, 2007 (LBO) –Sri Lanka's airports authority has awarded the cleaning and facility management contract for the Banaranaike International Airport (BIA) to Sinar Malship Lanka, the company announced Wednesday. Sinar Malship Lanka, formed under the Board of Investment in collaboration with Malaysia's Sinar Jernih, adopts British Institute of Cleaning Science methods to comply with international standards for the hospitality, hotel and airports, a company statement said.

Malship said it aims to bring the BIA up to the same international standards as the other airports maintained by them like the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, voted the cleanest airport in the world in 2003 by IATA.

Sinar Jernih is the maintenance contractor for Malaysian Twin Towers, Times Square, Telekom Malaysia, Prime Ministers Office and other institutions.
