Sri Lanka-Australia discuss security in the Indian Ocean

(PRESS RELEASE) - Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Harsha de Silva met with Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in Canberra today (29) during his official visit as a special guest of the Government of Australia.

The Deputy Minister was following up on the agreements during the visit of the PM in February. During that visit the PM of Sri Lanka announced in Melbourne Sri Lanka’s willingness to conduct exploratory talks on the design and development of an Indian Ocean Order on the freedom of navigation.
