It employs almost 29,000 people and the company, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, operates in over 60 countries worldwide. In March this year, Transport Ministry said it concluded the initial core category duty free tender of the airport for the first time since inception. The ministry added the tender was awarded to Flemingo Duty Free at 40 percent revenue share. The airport handled 9.47 million international passengers last year with passenger traffic growing by 14 percent, while the new airport terminal is due to be operational by 2020.
