Sri Lanka-EU investor forum in Colombo

June 20, 2013 (LBO) – A European Union – Sri Lanka Investor Dialogue will take place in July 09 in Colombo, to foster explore new partnerships and expand existing ones, a business chamber of businesses linked to Europe said. The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL) said investment promotion minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene and deputy minister Faizer Mustapha was supporting the process.

The ECCSL said it initiated the EU-SL Business Dialogue process in November 2012 with the EU-SL Business Council in Brussels, Belgium.

“This paved the way for numerous dialogues taking place with the European Union (EU) – Member States representations, European Investors and Sri Lankan businesses to explore joint venture partnerships,” the chamber said in a statement.

The July 09 event is backed by the investment promotion ministry and the Board of Investment, the chamber said.
