Sri Lanka flights started by Singapore’s Tiger Airways

June 01, 2012 (LBO) - Tiger Airways, has started flying to Sri Lanka three times a week with the first flight touching down Colombo at 2205 on May 31, the Singapore-based budget carrier said. Tiger Airways operates the service to Colombo three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

"Singapore is now a hop away for Sri Lankans wanting to explore the sights and sounds of the garden city," Dave Perring, Tiger Airways’ commercial director said in a statement.

Likewise, the rich history and natural beauty of Sri Lanka is within easy reach.

"Tiger Airways, direct service between Colombo and Singapore will provide more options at great value fares for leisure and business travellers.

The airline is offering flights starting at 8,600 rupees from Colombo to Singapore and at 98 Singapore dollars from the city state to Sri Lanka's capital.
