Sri Lanka gets daily Emirates flights to Singapore

July 05, 2010 (LBO) – The Dubai-based Emirates airline has started daily services between Colombo and Singapore from July 01 with the addition of two more frequencies to and from the city state, a statement said. Singapore remains one of the most popular destinations out of Colombo for shopping, leisure and business travel, said Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager in Sri Lanka.

The extra frequencies will help cater to the demand and provide our customers with extra options when planning their itineraries.

Emirates flight EK348 now departs Colombo at 14:55 seven days a week and arrives in Singapore at 21:15.

The return flight, EK349 departs Singapore at 00:55 and arrives in Colombo at 01:55.

Emirates has deployed its Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft on the route, with eight seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 304 in Economy, the airline statement said.

Passengers on Economy Class on Emirates get a baggage allowance of 30 kilos, while Business and First Class passengers have a baggage allowance of 40 and 50 kilos.

Emirates also operates 21 services a week between Colombo and Dubai, making a total of 28 flights a week to and from Sri Lanka.
