Sri Lanka, Korea in bid to boost trade, investment

Jan 22, 2014 (LBO) - A business forum in Sri Lanka on January 30 with the participation of a top Korean trade and investment promotion official is targeting greater business links between the two countries, organizers said. Weon Cheol Koh, head of KOTRA, the Korean and trade and investment promotion office will address the forum, The Sri Lanka Korea Economic Co-operation Committee of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said.

"The growing economy of Sri Lanka has embarked on providing many opportunities to Korean Investors in the Sri Lankan market," the Chamber said.

"And with the commencement of direct flights by Korean Air between Colombo and Seoul along with trade opportunities it’s hoped that export volumes to Korea will have a possible growth."

During 2013 tourist arrivals from Korea has also increased, the Chamber said.
