Sri Lanka launches e-Chamber with laptops for MPs


Aug 23, 2017 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Parliament on Tuesday officially launched the Chamber Management Information System (e-Chamber) to allow parliamentarians to attend to their functions in the Parliament Chamber.

Under this project a laptop computer each has been provided to the tables of all members of Parliament.

Installed in the form of a “kiosk” systems, members can access legislative and archival information and other services with regard to the business of the day.

The laptops for this project were received as foreign aid, while the needed software was developed by the information systems department of Parliament.
