Sri Lanka marks maritime and naval week from Sept 21-27

Sep 22, 2015 (LBO) - Sri Lanka has declared September 21 to 27 as Maritime & Naval week and to mark the occasion a souvenir and a badge was presented to the President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s official residence Monday, a statement said. "This is the first time Sri Lanka holds an event under this theme," a Presidents office media release said. "The Maritime & Naval Week will be held according to the advice and conditions of the International Maritime Organization and issues regarding to policies of the Maritime & Naval Affairs, ocean laws as well as issues related to investment opportunities are scheduled to be discussed during this week." The souvenirs were presented to the President by Rohan Masakorala, President of the “Maritime & Naval Week” program and Senior Advisor for Ports and Aviation.
