Sri Lanka President in New York for UN assembly

Sep 23, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapaksa has arrived in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly to be held tomorrow and will also have talks with UN chief Ban ki-Moon. His media office said President Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa was welcome by Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Palitha Kohona, mission officials.

The President is to have talks with the UN chief and Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma,

Foreign Minister G L Peiris and several other ministers have accompanied him.
