Sri Lanka Softlogic appoints risk, retail chiefs

Aug 02, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka ‘s Softlogic group said it had appointed two senior executives with domestic and international experience to head the group risk and audit function and its retail unit. After starting at KPMG Ford Rhodes Thornton & Company in 1981 he moved to Singer Industries (Ceylon) Ltd, and moved to its marketing team.

He was general manager of PT. Singer Indonesia Tbk, before taking over as marketing director at Singer Sri Lanka Plc in 2007.

Damith Vithanaranage who had over 20 years’ work experience in finance, information systems, administration, financial analysis and general management, has taken over as group head of risk and internal from July.

He has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Preston, a diploma in HR management from India’s Central Institute of Management (India), a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colombo, a company statement said.

Vithanaranage is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and the Certified Information Systems Control and Audit Association (USA).

He has wor
