Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.2-pct: Low investor activity  

Dec 07, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed down at 0.16 percent with low investor activity, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed down 10.93 points at 6,858.63 down 0.16 percent. S&P SL20 closed 4.88 points lower at 3,633.68 down 0.13 percent. Turnover was at 388 million rupees, lower than the daily average of 1.1 billion rupees with 43 stocks closing positive against 102 negative. The main index showed losses in Sri Lanka Telecom closing at 46.50 rupees, down 0.90 rupees and Cargills Ceylon closed at 185.00 rupees, down 4.60 rupees. John Keells Holdings closed at 179.70 rupees, down 0.30 rupees. Active trading was seen in Lanka Hospitals with the stock closing at 62.00 rupees, up 1.10 rupees after hitting a 52 week high of 63.60 rupees.
