Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.2-pct

July 20, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed down 0.20 percent on Monday with investors taking profit from the market, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 14.10 points higher at 7,147.86 down 0.20 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 6.23 points higher at 4,007.52 down 0.16 percent. Turnover was 646.7 million rupees, down from 1.94 billion rupees Thursday with 119 stocks closing positive against 44 negative. “Most of the investors were seen taking profits after the gains in the markets last week,” Lanka Securities said. The main index was dragged down by Sri Lanka Telecom closing at 48.40 rupees, down 1.20 rupees and Commercial bank closing at 168.10 rupees, down 1.40 rupees. John Keells Holdings led the turnover list with 182 million rupees with the stock closing at 184.0 rupees, up 1.10 rupees. In banking stocks, Sampath Bank closed at 260.10 rupees, up 0.40 rupees and DFCC closed at 198.20 rupees, down 1.80 rupees. Dialog Axiata closed at 11.20 rupees, down 0.10 rupees.
