Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.3-pct

July 27, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed down 0.30 percent on Monday following a nine week high, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 21.82 points lower at 7,247.23 down 0.30 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 3.98 points lower at 4,067.67 down 0.10 percent. Turnover was 1.08 billion rupees, down from 1.6 billion rupees Friday with 62 stocks closing positive against 112 negative. The main index showed losses in Sri Lanka Telecom closed at 49.40 rupees, down 0.20 rupees and Asiri Hospital Holdings closing at 22.20 rupees, down 0.45 percent. “Foreign investors were net buyers for the third consecutive session with a net inflow of 65 million rupees. Foreign participation was 27 percent,” Lanka Securities said. Net foreign inflows were seen in Lanka Century Investments 53 million rupees, Distilleries Company 49 million rupees, Lanka Milk Foods 24 million rupees while net foreign outflow was mainly seen in Aitken Spence 124 million rupees.
