Sri Lanka stocks close higher 0.05-pct

Jan 28, 2016 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed higher 0.05 percent with gains in some tobacco and beverage stocks, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed higher 3.34 points at 6,319.89 up 0.05 percent. S&P SL20 closed 4.35 points up at 3,279.77 up 0.13 percent.

Turnover was at 548 million rupees, with 70 stocks closing positive against 67 negative.

The main index showed gains in Lanka Orix Leasing with the stock closing at 153.70 rupees, down 3.30 rupees. Ceylon Tobacco Company closed at

Ceylon Cold Stores closed at 425.00 rupees, up 10.00 rupees.

In Banking, Commercial Bank closed flat at 127.00 rupees and Hatton National Bank closed at 175.30 rupees, up 0.10 rupees.
