Sri Lanka stocks close up 0.1-pct, high institutional activity

Dec 11, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed up at 0.12 percent after five consecutive days of losses on Friday with gains in Nestle Lanka and high institutional activity, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed up 8.44 points at 6,832.35 up 0.12 percent. S&P SL20 closed 5.26 points up at 3,607.31 up 0.15 percent. Turnover was at 1.54 billion rupees, higher than the daily average of 1.1 billion rupees with 55 stocks closing positive against 73 negative. The main index showed gains in Nestle Lanka closing at 2,199.80 rupees, up 119.80 rupees (up 5.8 percent). Active trading was seen in C T Holdings with over  3.66 million shares traded at 140.00 rupees and the stock closing flat 135.00 rupees.
