Sri Lanka stocks closed down 0.5-pct

Jan 26, 2016 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed down 0.50 percent with the negative sentiment of the investors continuing for a second consecutive day with losses in index heavy stocks, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed lower 31.96 points at 6,322.87 down 0.50 percent. S&P SL20 closed 22.23 points down at 3,276.43 down 0.67 percent. Turnover was at 341 million rupees, with 49 stocks closing positive against 91 negative. The main index showed losses John Keells Holdings and the stock closing at 153.70 rupees, down 3.30 rupees. JKH hit a 52 week low price of 150.10 rupees. Ceylon Cold Stores closed at 409.50 rupees, down 15.50 rupees and Distilleries Company closed at 214.40 rupees, down 4.60 rupees. In Banking, Commercial Bank closed at 128.40 rupees, down 0.60 rupees and Hatton National Bank closed at 196.00 rupees, down 1.30 rupees.
