Sri Lanka swears in new cabinet of Ministers today


Sri Lanka's new Cabinet of Ministers, under the National People's Power (NPP) government, was sworn in before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo, Monday.

The Deputy Ministers will be named later.

The NPP's win is seen as a mandate for anti-corruption efforts and economic reforms, following Dissanayake's presidential election success.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has retained the Ministries of Defence, Finance and Economic Development and the Digital Economy.

The new cabinet of 22 ministers is as follows....

1. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake - Minister of Defence, Finance and Economic Development and Digital Economy  
2. PM Dr. Harini Amarasuriya – Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education
