Dec 13, 2017 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s cabinet nod has been received to make it compulsory to obtain a health care certificate for textile and garment products.
As per the proposal made by Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, it has been decided to set up a method to ensure healthiness and security of these products.
It has also been decided to prescribe standards of child wears with the cooperation of Sri Lanka standards and to implement the programme through Consumer Affairs Authority.
