With CDS e-connect, account holders have the ability to access resources including transaction details, portfolio reports and past monthly statements – in real time and at the click of a button. Head of CDS, Nalin Fonseka recently said they are looking forward to introduce a fully-fledged electronic IPO and voting system during this year. Fonseka said the CDS is upgrading the investor account opening process and the initiative will decentralize the account opening process and enable broker firms to open client accounts from their offices without sending the documents to the CDS.
