June 25, 2018 (LBO) – Teledrama and film director Rohan Welivita is to produce Sri Lanka’s first 3D film which will be based on the drug trade spreading across the country. The script has been written by Welivita himself and the working title of this film has been named as “Shakthi”. The film depicts the manner in which the drug trade has seeped into the very fabric of society despite the efforts of a committed policeman to combat it. Welivita said the shooting of this 3D film is set to commence in October this year. Actors Lucky Dias, Roger Seneviratne, and Buddhika Jayaratne will be playing roles in this film among others. Several other novices are to make their debut into the world of film through this production.

Welivita will be using the advanced 3D technology which will use a 3D rig in the production of this film. A 3D rig is a device for mounting two cameras together to one 3D-system in order to shoot stereoscopic films and images.
