However, an official announcement had not been issued by the Rating Agency at the time of this report.

If confirmed, the telecom giant is only the third Sri Lankan firm to receive a triple A, after National Savings Bank and Citibank NA.

A triple A rating generally denotes a low expectation of risk and vulnerability to foreseeable events.

SLT’s new billing system went through technical glitches in its implementation stage, leaving over 800,000 customers chatting non-stop since last December. The new system includes time based itemised billing and allows subscribers to view their detail bills through SLTs website.
