rnThe change will be effective from August 16.rn
rnThe transformation is the next phase of the 10 Digit Number Change directive of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).rn
rnThe change will stretch the length of the numbers to seven, the first phase of the ten digit number change. rn
rnThe second phase will see Colombos area code being changed from 01 to 011, taking the total digits in all phone numbers to 10. rn
