Aug 22, 2017 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s main ruling United National Party on Tuesday said the party leadership has urged the President to remove Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana Wijedasa Rajapaksa from all his cabinet portfolios.
Issuing a statement, General Secretary of the UNP Minister Kabir Hashim said Rajapaksa has failed to act according to the decision taken by the UNP working committee.

Hashim added that Rajapaksa is still criticizing ministers and government policies by violating the collective responsibility of a cabinet minister.
UNP working committee last week decided to allow Rajapaksa till yesterday to correct, false statements made by him.
Rajapaksa however says that he does not have any intention of resigning from the ministerial post just because of allegations.
