The vision of Sri Lanka’s way forward is to develop the logistical hub between Singapore and Dubai in the Asian Waters.

" Colombo port is one of the busiest ports in the world, De Silva said and can play an important role in this context. The newly established Hambantota Port will also join with the country’s economic and trade strategy and be a vital base of maritime transportation. The Minister who just concluded a tour to Vietnam said the main focus of the discussion between the two nations was Vietnam’s strategy on economic development, sectors for bilateral cooperation, with special emphasis on attracting investment to Sri Lanka. Discussions also focused on improving bilateral trade in line with the agreement reached at the Sub Committee on Trade held in Colombo in March 2015 that highlighted the strategic location of Sri Lanka, as an important logistical hub for air connectivity and the promotion of tourism, trade and investment. De Silva emphasized that just as Sri Lanka welcomes businesses to invest in Sri Lanka and it also encourages Sri Lankan companies to take the comparative advantages that are offered elsewhere.

Aha…at last someone seems to be getting down to doing what must be done. I hope it was not forgotten to sign up at least ten companies willing to invest in ISBAC and another ten willing to list on ISBAC as soon as it is up and running. I hope that clear signals have been sent out that whoever is willing to bring in the required processes including the central Counterparty clearing house process will get a significant share of ISBAC…

Every feasible new avenue could be a future plan & has to be careful look at for. the benefits.Consider the world’s no1,2,&3 economies,US,China,Japan. ,& revolving recent activities.
a)No 1.Over 80% domestic economy is comparatively better off mainly due to intricic factors & after a decade is normalising rates. This may strengthen fed to face off another simillar threat like 2008 in case.Building strength.
b)No2.Economy has been slowing down whilst transforming it from production to service. After issuing a firm new year message for 2016 to apex that no one should dare to be currupt in 2016 China a major lender to US seems to be gearing up to face any challenge with posture adjustment.Economic strengths can be time related & actions do have to be timely.Safeguarding/building strengths/ mitigating internal external threats with posture change.
c)No 3 After maintaining jpy 80 bn stimulus per month for some time now last week joined the negative interest club. The borrowings cost for economic work for people not only will be 0 but will go below from Feb.The much lower jpy as a consequence will further enhance Japan’s competitive posture. With the jpy dropping 2% against the USD the concurrent graft aligation had led to the dumping of its economic minister for a fresh start again changing posture.Preserving & enhancing strengths mitigating external internal threats with posture change.
